Welcome - Lloyd Lam Call to Worship – Conrad Loh Musical Worship Scripture Reading - Isaiah 61:1-3 - Wei-Lin Koo Congregational Prayer Offering Musical Response Message - “The Hometown Rejected" Luke 4:16-30 - Pastor Sunil Gaikwad Testimony - Ryan Graham Musical Response Announcements Closing Prayer Post-Service Prayer ____________________________ Welcome! For the benefit of all, please turn your cell phone to vibrate mode during our Service. For parents of young children, we have a nursing room/supervised nursery located downstairs and Sunday School classes for children age 2 (as of September 1, 2025) through 6th grade, which meet during our worship service. Our offering is intended for those who consider NSCCC their home church. If you are a visitor, please do not feel obligated to participate.

Announcements: Welcome, Pastor Sunil: We welcome Pastor Sunil to the pulpit this morning! Sunil has 40 years of ministry experience as a pastor and missionary. Currently, he serves with New Generations as a coordinator of Disciple Making Movement among South Asian Diaspora and with Converge International Ministries as an Initiative Leader of South Asian Peoples Initiative. Sunil and his wife Alvina are originally from Mumbai, India. They have been in the Chicagoland area for the last 30 years, and have one daughter, Evangeline, who lives in Libertyville with her husband Seth. Worship on the Move: Due to the churchwide Summer Retreat on June 19–21, there will be no programs or services at the church on June 21. All are welcome to join us at 9:00 a.m. at University of Wisconsin–Parkside in Kenosha, WI (Molinaro Hall room D132). No registration is needed to join us for worship. See Wei-Lin Koo for more information or a map to UW–Parkside. Have a Story to Tell? We are looking for people to share testimonies during our summer Sunday services of how they have experienced God’s love and grace recently. If you have a 4-5 minute story that reveals Christ at work in your life, please contact Joe Farley or Ryan Graham. Pastor Mike Sabbatical: The Deacon Board has granted Pastor Mike a 3-month sabbatical beginning on June 14. According to our church by-laws, pastors are eligible for a sabbatical after their 7th year of service, and every 5 years following. This will be Pastor Mike’s first sabbatical since he started serving at NSCCC in 2011. The plan that he submitted to the Deacons includes travel in Asia to visit family and observe ministries in that context, extended time for reflection on God’s call on him and for our church, and focused time to continue work towards his Doctor of Ministry degree. Please pray for Pastor Mike, Esther, Gwen, Jude, and Liv, that this will be a time of rest, rejuvenation, and reinvigoration for ministry. Please pray for our congregational leaders as they cover additional responsibilities. And finally please pray that our church will be reminded in the coming months that we follow a mighty God who continues to work and to will in and through us at all times. Summer Picnic: Mark your calendar for our congregational picnic at a local park on July 18, 12:00-4:00p. More details, including a location, will be available in the coming weeks.
